What we collect

When you use Petbae, we may collect:

  • Email address (required for waitlist signup and Match results)
  • Phone number (optional, if you choose to provide it)
  • Location (optional, UK city or region)
  • Match preferences (your answers during the Match quiz, including living situation, household type, exercise habits, allergy information, budget comfort, and similar lifestyle data)
  • Usage data (pages visited, Match completion status, collected anonymously via Cloudflare Web Analytics)

Why we collect it

  • To provide and improve the Petbae matching service
  • To send you updates about the Petbae launch and service (only with your consent)
  • To connect you with relevant rescue organisations and responsible breeders when the platform launches
  • To improve the matching experience and recommendation quality

Lawful basis

We process your data based on consent (for marketing communications) and legitimate interest (for service delivery and improving our matching algorithms). You can withdraw your consent at any time.

How we store your data

Your data is stored in Airtable, which hosts data in the United States. Petbae relies on Airtable's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for international data transfers in compliance with UK GDPR.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal data, including using encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission.

Data retention

We retain your data until you request deletion, or for 2 years after your last interaction with Petbae, whichever comes first. After this period, your data will be securely deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
  • Port your data to another service

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies and does not store personal data. It provides us with aggregate statistics about page visits and performance.

Cookies

Petbae does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We use browser session storage to preserve your Match progress and UTM parameters during your visit. This data is not sent to any third party and is cleared when you close your browser.

Third parties

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

  • Airtable: data storage (US-hosted, SCCs in place)
  • Cloudflare: hosting, analytics, and AI processing

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
